Why Become a Yoga Teacher NOW?
It is an unprecedented time in the universe and not much about the future is known. This is the point. Yogis and meditators have been waiting for this moment to arrive – the moment that really brings us into the moment of presence, for there is absolutely no guarantee about the future of anything, for anyone.
Thought about becoming a yoga teacher? Maybe NOW is the time to do it. You might gain this skill. The skill of being in the present moment. There are many more benefits also, they can be for a moment or for a lifetime. We just don’t know so you may want to learn while the prices are right and the world is changing.
Why not…
Deepen your physical practice. Have you been sitting around a lot? Yoga training programs bring students of all physical levels together to learn from each other’s different body types, injuries, flexibility levels, and strengths. Watching a fellow classmate reach her first headstand is super sweet for everyone. You know those poses you don’t like? You may find yourself learning to love them as you study and embody the correct alignment, modifications and benefits of each pose in detail.Learn some new skills
Whether you want or need to become self-employed, earning your RYT is something to add to the long list of things you are skilled at. Once you have completed your training you will officially be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and access tips for starting your own studio, finding new students, and earning additional training hours. Becoming a yoga teacher offers the freedom of self employment as well as the flexibility of teaching both locally and internationally. The omnipresence of yoga means the world truly is your oyster once the boarders open.
#1 Find your conscious community
If there is one underrated benefit of YTT programs, it is the yoga family you will stay connected to years after your final exam. While delving deep into your own spiritual and physical practice, you are also supporting the journey of those around you and creating a support network of yoga warriors. Upon your completion of training your new yoga family will expand as you embrace your students, teachers, and community and share what you are doing.
#2 Challenge yourself mentally and physically
As you deepen your physical practice and do more meditation, maybe kirtan, restorative asana and kriyas you’ve never done before, you will change for the better, maybe not even realising exactly what it is from. Asanas are only one of eight limbs of yoga. There are seven other big facets you can learn and practice to really know what yoga is about, including ways to conduct yourself.
#3 Explore your spirituality
Many people who deepen their yoga practice through a teacher training leave with a spiritual practice rooted in the understanding that we as people are all very connected even if we share different beliefs. Yoga serves to help quiet the mind and attune to our true selves. This awareness provides the means to live a more conscious lifestyle and focus on what matters most. One of the greatest benefits of a teacher training program is the self-discovery and time to reflect as you approach life with a heightened sense of awareness.
#4 Become a teacher
Once you have completed your YTT you will be a teacher. This is only the beginning! Use this power to develop your own unique teaching style that is authentic to you. Ponder teachers who made a positive impact on your life and pay it forward to other students. You have the opportunity to give back not only to your students but also to those who may not have access to yoga in person. Teach everywhere you can and start to make a platform that can serve you and others for a long time in this new paradigm.
4 weeks should do it. Then do as much practice with others as you can and keep learning how to teach.
